Husband and 17 year old in Haiti

My precious husband and son left for Haiti early Sat. morning with a Christian Relief group out of Rocky Mt. The group was all men, many of them retired marines, and will be doing foood distribution, construction, demolition and I'm not sure what all else. They left when I was in the midst of the horrid stomach flu, with 6 of my kids coming down with it. I felt a little abandoned to say the least, but my selfishness didn't last too long. I know that they are doing what God wants them to do and I am so proud of them. It will be life changing and very stretching for them to say the least. My 17 year old has never been out of the country and he was a little hesitant about going. My husband has been posting on his blog their updates (jacobsenfam.blogspot) and this is my only communication with them. I'm so glad God is using them! But I do have to say that being Daddy and Mama to 8 children while he is gone has it's challenges. I'm so glad I have such a great husband that helps so much and is proactive in parenting. The stomach flu is all over now, thank the Lord and God is carrying us through this week! My older kids have truly been helping a lot and having a schedule (for chores, school, meals, etc) has been a life saver. Keep Ron and Ben in your prayers!

  1. Wow! I'm so glad the flu passed quickly! What a blessing that you two men are in Haiti. It is a miracle they got in. I pray God protects them and sustains you while they are away.
