Waiting for a Harvest

Patrick at his first annual pumpkin choosing......he's my little harvest.....last year this time he was nestled inside my tummy
We recently did our annual pumpkin gathering/buying at the pumpkin farm about a half mile from our house.  The neat thing about it is that we watch these pumpkins grow from mid July when the field is sown, to seeing them get big and orange late September.
Well, God has been teaching me a good bit lately about waiting.  The farmer sows, waters, weeds and maybe even fertilizes but the main thing he does, is wait.  I know all of us are probably waiting on something from the Lord and I just want to encourage you, and myself, that our harvest WILL come!  God is working, even when we can't see it but most of the time, His timing is not our timing. So, I'll leave you with this....."Those who wait on the Lord, will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings as eagles, they will run and not be weary, walk and not faint."  Isaiah 40:31

I let each child pick out a pumpkin and the girls love picking out small pie ones

  1. Thank you for this last post. As I watch my husband struggle in a job that is in crisis mood I have to learn not to interfere and try and fix everything, but to wait on the Lord and trust Him.
